Each administrative portal opens on a dashboard tuned to its scope. Program admins see today's attention items and program health. Institution leadership sees a cross-program command center. Organization admins see a multi-institution overview. The program dashboard adapts its widgets and metrics to your program type.

Program administrators, coordinators, and program directors use the program dashboard. Institution administrators and deans use the institution dashboard. Organization administrators use the organization dashboard.
How it works
Program dashboard — Today panel. An attention panel ranks items needing action: overdue evaluations, work-hour violations, at-risk learners, expiring compliance documents, hour shortfalls, and overdue clerkship grades. Which types appear depends on program type. Residency programs see duty-hour violations; undergraduate medical programs see overdue clerkship grades instead. Each item carries a severity (blocking, needs attention, or FYI) and links to the page where you resolve it. Dismissing items clears the list for the day, but only for your session — dismissals reset when you switch programs.
Undergraduate medical program home. Directors see a compact Needs your attention summary instead of the long Today list. The page pairs a feed of announcements and upcoming meetings with a side rail showing form and curriculum completion, plus owned backlogs. If a region can't load its data, it shows a retry action instead of a false empty or caught-up state.
Program health strips. Residency, nursing, allied-health, and other presets use vital-signs and operational-pulse strips for key rates and day-to-day areas. Undergraduate medical uses the period-health and backlog rail above. Where a preset offers it, a Heart Beat view opens program activity and health statistics in a detail dialog.
Program-type presets. Widgets, indicators, and terminology adjust to your program type — residency, undergraduate medical, nursing, allied health, or other. Widgets tied to a feature your program doesn't use stay hidden.
Announcements. Program administrators can compose and publish an announcement from the dashboard. You can choose recipients by role, group, or individual, send it as email, and attach documents.
Institution dashboard. Institution leadership gets a command center. It summarizes programs and institution-wide statistics, and surfaces risk indicators. It also shows the next two weeks of calendar events, an announcements wall, and quick links.
Organization dashboard. Organization administrators see a multi-institution overview with an organization switcher; selecting an institution jumps you into that institution's portal.
Pinned reports. All three dashboards can show a section of pinned AI-generated report widgets at the bottom.
Before you start
You need program-admin, coordinator, or program-director access for the program dashboard. Institution and organization dashboards need the matching admin role.
Which item types and widgets you see depend on your program type and which features your institution has turned on.
Do this
Open your program dashboard (
/admin) → you should see the Today panel with a ranked list of attention items (or the compact Needs your attention summary on an undergraduate medical program).Use the filter chips in the Today panel — All, Violations, Overdue, At-risk, or Compliance — to narrow the list → the list updates to show only matching items.
Select a row's action, such as Review, Send reminder, Open profile, or View hours → you're taken to the page where you resolve that item.
To clear the list for the day, select Dismiss all on the panel's toolbar, then confirm Dismiss {count} items from today's list? by selecting Dismiss → the panel shows You're caught up.
You're done when
✓ The evaluation, violation, or other flagged item is resolved on its own page.
✓ Items you dismissed no longer show on the Today panel for the rest of your session.
✓ The panel reads You're caught up once nothing is left to review.
Boundaries and limits
The Today panel shows at most 50 items. Dismissals are session-only — not saved, and reset when you switch programs or sign in again.
The undergraduate medical program feed shows at most 15 recent items. Calendar items are program-scoped meetings and conferences from today through the next 30 days. Curriculum sessions and clinical schedules are excluded.
Dashboard layout follows the program type preset — no drag-and-drop customization of built-in widgets. The only addition you control is pinned report widgets.
Widgets and indicators gated behind features your program hasn't enabled don't appear at all.
Some operational cards read "No data yet" when a metric has no recorded data for the program. The undergraduate medical home omits cards with no meaningful metric.
The Today panel degrades gracefully. If one data source fails to load, the remaining item types still appear instead of blanking the whole panel.
Each dashboard is scoped to the portal you're working in — one program, one institution, or one organization at a time.
Common questions
Q: I dismissed items from the Today panel yesterday — why are they back? A: Dismissals only last for your current session. Items return next session until the underlying issue is resolved on its own page.
Q: Why does a colleague's program dashboard show different widgets than mine? A: The dashboard adapts to program type and enabled features. A residency program shows duty-hour widgets; a nursing program shows clinical hours and competency widgets instead.
Q: Can I act on an attention item directly from the dashboard? A: Each row links to the page where the work happens. An overdue evaluation row, for example, takes you to the forms area. The dashboard itself is for triage.
Q: Why does an undergraduate medical dashboard look different from the Today panel described above? A: That preset uses a compact exception summary, program feed, and period-health rail instead. It lets program directors scan leadership-level work without a long coordinator list.
Q: How far ahead does the institution calendar panel look? A: It shows events for the current and following week — two weeks out from the start of the current week.
